Whether you’re a seasoned coffee drinker with rich tastes or just someone that needs java to function — don’t sweat. there are plenty of local spots to exercise your caffeine craving. However, there are a few special spots we love AND they’re all within walking distance. take a tour! here’s our list of favourites you should absolutely visit when you get the chance:
Hey Happy Coffee (pictured middle) - bean connoisseurs & those who love a perfect bite, we’re lookin’ at you.
Habit Coffee (pictured left) - bring a book and enjoy your cup in solitude in chinatown, or grab it to go at their other location on yates.
Discovery Coffee - yonni’s donuts, made daily. yup!
Fol Epi Bakery - traditional pastries that transport you to your favourite patisserie in paris.
Saint Cecilia - new to victoria and a spot to check out for those who love single origin coffee’s.
“big city” in a little city
Imagine taking a borough from a big city (like new york, toronto, amsterdam), bringing it to the west coast of Canada, to an island with less than a million people on it — that is the downtown of Victoria. Here, “island living” doesn’t feel like a huge compromise. Just take a walk down government street on a busy summer’s day and you’ll get all the hustle bustle you would in that big city you love.
Downtown Victoria is a unique hot spot to consider owning property. Keep a condo for west coast getaways and rent it while you’re away; find a condo for your kids while they attend University; or spoil yourself and work remotely for a year or two (here’s looking at you Covid). The good thing is, here you have options and Victoria is a great place to consider them.

the food scene
It is both a blessing and a curse to have access to such a beautiful variety of cuisines to choose from for your weekly take-out tuesday. Here are our current three fav spots to call for take-out (or sit in pre-covid times):
La Taqueria: Delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. Almost transports you to your favourite beach in mexico. This place is also one of the hottest spots in victoria for Mezcal lovers — hit up their happy hour on a sunny afternoon. You will not be sorry!
Sherwood Café & Bar: Seasonal dishes & the best fries in town!!! Sherwood is newish to Victoria and very welcome. Great ambiance, food & drink and overall spot to reconnect with friends. Don’t forget about their amazing outdoor patios to sit at on a gorgeous Victoria afternoon!
Agrius Restaurant: Renowned and beloved Victoria restaurant. They have completely restructured their menu due to Covid-19 and are now offering pizza takeout 7 nights a week! Delicious, local ingredients on the best bread in town. If you’re craving pizza - this is our go-to!!!
